Titanium Grade 5 (6-4)

Grade 5 Titanium is a general-purpose alpha-beta alloy in widespread use. It contains a favorable balance of properties with moderately high tensile strength, good fatigue strength, with intermediate fracture toughness. what’s more, it’s highly resistant to general corrosion in sea water.

Lightweight honeycomb structures for the Aerospace & Aviation industry

Biocompatible to make it ideal for medical implants.

Consumer Electronics. Shielding for EMI/RFI: Provides lightweight electromagnetic and radio frequency interference shielding for sensitive internal components in smartphones and other compact electronic devices.

Fuel Cell Components: Used in Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cells as part of the bipolar plates or gas diffusion layers due to its excellent corrosion resistance.

Shape Memory Alloy Substrate: While pure titanium nickel (Nitinol) is the standard shape memory alloy, Gr5 foil can be used as a substrate or component in applications requiring a specific thermal expansion coefficient.

Lithium-Ion Batteries: Investigated as a current collector or component in advanced battery designs to improve energy density and safety.

Surface

Clean uniform surface, 1Ra - 16Ra without discoloration or surface defects. Available with a slit edge (typical burr <10% of strip thickness) or an as-rolled edge.
